Chase Monroe, CCIM, SIOR -- 2005Chase Monroe, 2005

When President, what accomplishment were you most proud of?
CPE started again in 2005; new software was very different and had a lot of pushback from former presidents who didn’t think a local CPE would work. Also, Theresa Salmon was given the distinction of “25 most influential women in Charlotte” that year.

As an interesting side fact, Chase said that originally, Charlotte was one of three places in the country where the federal government printed money. Resulting, if you see a “C” on a coin, that means it was originally printed in Charlotte.

How has the region changed since your presidency?
In 2005 and earlier, 98 percent of real estate work was done in and by those related to Charlotte, not a lot of “cross-pollination." Now, Charlotte is a larger market with more competition and influence from outsiders.
