1969 - Took a
job with Equitable Life after discharged from the Air Force at Pope AFB,
Fayetteville, NC
How did you get started in real
estate?
Took a part time job at the opening
of Tega Cay doing land sales which led to a staff job with The Ervin Co.,
a Charlotte based home builder
Brief summary of
career:
Bissell Commercial Industrial (BCI); work outs for Northwestern Financial Investors (REIT);
investment sales (commercial and land) for Stockton White and First
Citizens; 1982 founding president of Cauble and Company of Carolina which
was sold to L.J. Melody & Co. in 1998; co-founder with Charles Campbell in
2004; formed First Colony Capital which is now Brackett Flagship
Properties.
What are you doing
today?
Senior Vice President for Flagship Capital, LLC
Whom has been the
most influential factor to your success in our industry?
Smoky Bissell gave me an opportunity to learn the general brokerage
business.
What accomplishments
are you the most proud of?
Recruiting the new membership and establishing the groundwork and planning
for the future and tradition of CRCBR.
What item would you
leave behind to be remembered as Past President? (If they were adding a
time capsule)
A list of the first board of directors who were so involved in the
beginning to build the basis for the growth of CRCBR for future years to
come.
What is important
for members of CRCBR to know about you?
That I cared about the work and health of the commercial real estate
sector and its recognition as a vital part of Charlottes growing economy
and is a growing platform for commercial real estate as a whole.
