NAR Offers Mold Facts Publication
An informational guide created by the American Industrial Hygiene
Association to help consumers understand the basics about mold is being
offered for sale by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS.
"The Facts About Mold" is a 12-page quick reference for real estate
practitioners that helps answer questions from prospective homeowners and
tenants about mold that agents should not attempt to answer on their own.
The brochure includes information about mold and health, suggestions on how
to prevent mold from growing in the home and tips on what to do if mold is
discovered. In addition, the guide tells when it is necessary to contact a
professional.
The guide includes a glossary to help users understand the technical terms
that they may have seen used to describe mold, and provides resources to
consumers on how to locate more information on mold.
"The Facts About Mold" is available now in packages of five guides. For NAR
members, prices are as follows: one to two packages, $12.50 each; three to
15 packages, $10 each; and 16 or more, $7.50 each. For non-members: one to
two packages, $15 each; three to 15 packages, $12 each; and 16 or more, $9
each.

NAR also offers "A Guide to Mold, Moisture and Your Home" (item 141-24), a
complementary product created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The guide educates consumers with mold concerns or problems, why mold
develops in the home, and offers ways to remove it and prevent it from
returning.
