Congratulations to the following CRCBR members on their recent achievements:

Coldwell Banker Commercial MECA – Kevin Smith
Coldwell Banker Commercial MECA has hired Kevin Smith as senior brokerage associate. Smith, a Michigan native who has lived in Gaston County for 14 years, comes to commercial real estate with a background in urban development, investment banking, and law. He earned a B.A. in Urban Development from Michigan State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law. He is a member of the Clarence Darrow Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. He most recently operated his own consulting firm, K.R. Smith & Co.

Colliers International and IA Interior Architects – Adam Farber and Joe Meyer
Night & Day Dental, a full-service general/family dental practice headquartered in Raleigh, NC, recently purchased a 6,000 square foot retail building at 6316 E. Independence Blvd. in Charlotte, NC. The building was formerly a Mattress Firm. Night & Day Dental plans to fully renovate the facility to accommodate a full-service dental practice. Adam Farber of Colliers International | Charlotte represented Night & Day Dental on the sales transaction. Joe Meyer of IA Interior Architects is part of the team working on the renovation for Night & Day Dental.

Gibson Smith Realty Co. – H.P. “Smitty” Smith, CCIM
H.P. “Smitty” Smith, CCIM, principal of Gibson Smith Realty Co. represented an NC limited liability company in negotiating the $1,218,000 sale of a free-standing DOLLAR TREE STORE located at 2145 LeJeune Boulevard, NC, to a publicly-traded investment company. The 10,000 square foot building was built in 2003 and leased to Dollar Tree on a ten-year lease term. The Buyer was self-represented.

Smith also represented a North Carolina LLC in arranging the $865,000 sale of 1000 Delaware Avenue, McComb, MS, occupied by Sherwin-Williams on a ten-year lease term. The Buyer was a publicly-traded investment company and was self-represented.

MPV Properties – Mike Bilodeau and Keely Hines
MPV Properties (MPV) and Stone Theatres recently celebrated the topping out of the new 14-screen Cineplex, which will anchor RedStone, Indian Land’s new premier retail destination. The movie theater, to be called RedStone 14, is just one component of the RedStone shopping center with other tenants including Portofino’s Ristorante Italiano e Pizzeria, Red Rocks Café, Sharonview Federal Credit Union, Viva Chicken, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Pananova Craft Kitchen, Moe’s Southwest Grill, WAFU Japanese Steakhouse, Jackson’s Java, Which Wich, Tropical Smoothie Café, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, and Lee Nails. Mike Bilodeau of MPV is leading the development of the project and Keely Hines is responsible for leasing.

Office Environments Names New President
Office Environments, Inc. (OE), a Charlotte-based commercial furniture dealer, announces the promotion of their Executive Vice President of 15 years, Barry Bale to President, upon the retirement of current President, Cindy Cox. Bale states, “Cindy has served this company since its beginning and been an integral part of our Executive Team. She will be immensely missed, but I wish her the absolute best as she enjoys her retirement. I am excited to serve further and blaze toward a dynamic future with the OE family.” Read more here.
