We Need Your Help Again! Transfer Taxes and Impact Fees

Almost 300 people responded to our request to send emails to the City Council asking them to oppose transfer taxes and impact fees. The Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners will consider the transfer tax and impact fee proposal on Tuesday, December 19th.

Administrative, marketing, research, and other para-professionals play an integral part of a real estate firm and as a liaison between the brokers and the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of REALTORS� (CRCBR)!  It is for this reason that CRCBR extends an invitation for your para-professionals to participate in a new alliance called ParaNet.  This program will offer access to a network of other para-professionals in our region, providing an exchange of ideas, as well as learning experiences to help them as they support your firm.

Infrastructure General Development Policies (GDP) Meeting Rescheduled
February 12, 2007
The “Infrastructure Policies for Land Use and Development” meeting has been rescheduled for next Thursday, February 15, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.  The meeting will be held at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center, 600 E. Fourth Street, Charlotte, NC 28202, in Room CH-14 (please enter by way of basement doors off Davidson Street).  This phase of the GDP's will be about infrastructure and land use (think Adequate Public Facilities Ordinances).

CCIM Market Forecast Meeting

February 26, 2007
CRCBR members are invited to join CCIM for their Market Forecast meeting scheduled for March 8, 2007 at the Embassy Suites in Concord.  CRCBR members will receive the CCIM member rate for this meeting.

Infrastructure General Development Policies (GDP) Meeting Survey
March 1, 2007 Thank you to everyone who came out for the GDP meeting on February 15! The input from the real estate community is critical to the evolution of these policies.

Building Development Process Survey
March 8, 2007
In reaction to concerns expressed by members over the building development process in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, NAIOP Charlotte and the Charlotte Chamber have agreed to inventory the issues and work with public officials to address them in a forum.  We have compiled a survey as the vehicle for that inventory.  All CRCBR members are encouraged to participate in this anonymous survey.  The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and must be completed by Wednesday, March 14.  YOUR INPUT IS CRITICAL!
